THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Sacramento, Calif. — It was sort of a valiant effort, but the Sacramento Kings failed for the fourth-straight time to get an urgently-required win.

The Oklahoma City Thunder lit the Kings up 121-105 at Golden 1 Center with spectacular shooting, unstoppable defense, and undeniable team togehterness in front of 16,060 spectators.


Superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 assists for OKC (60-12, 29-7 on the road), who have won 11 consecutive games away from home. Chet Holmgren added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 steals.


OKC made 43 of 82 shots from the field (52.4%), 19 of 32 beyond the arc (59.4%), and 16 of 20 at the foul line (80%). The Thunder collected 52 rebounds and, as a unit, dished out 30 assists.


With 10 games remaining, the Kings are now tied with the Phoenix Suns for 9th place in the Association’s Western Conference. Sacramento currently holds the tiebreaker over the Suns. A 128-113 loss to the New York Knicks on the road leaves the Dallas Mavericks in the 11th position.


Keegan Murray scored 28 points, pulled down 6 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots for the Kings, who plunged to a 35-37 record, 18-18 at G1C. Murray made 9 of 15 shots from the floor – 9 of 13 shots in 3-point territory. Interim leader Doug Christie 22-19, which includes the 4-game slump.
