THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Sacramento, Calif. — Giannis Antetokounmpo scores 22 points and pulls down 8 rebounds in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 114-108 win over the Sacramento Kings on March 22.

Antetokounmpo finished with 32 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 assists in 34 minutes for the Bucks (40-30, 16-18 on the road), who are now 1-1 on a 5-game road trip. Brook Lopez added 21 points and Kevin Porter Jr. rolled off the bench to drop 18 points on 8 of 10 shooting from the field.


As for the Kings, they fall back to .500 with a 35-35 record, 18-16 at Golden 1 Center. Sacramento is 1 ½ games ahead of the 10th-place Phoenix Suns and 11th-place Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference.


DeMar DeRozan’s 22 points, Keon Ellis’s 20, and Jonas Valančiūnas’ 18 points lead the Kings in a losing effort. Zach LaVine had 16 points and Keegan Murray finished with 13 points. The Kings have lost 7 of their last 10 games, including 2 straight losing efforts.


Malik Monk was out with an illness and Domantas Sabonis is still in the middle of a 10-day layoff due to an ankle sprain. Milwaukee star guard and Kings’ killer Damian Lillard, missed his 2nd straight game with a right calf injury.


The Kings jumped out to a 24-11, validated by a LaVine dunk at the 3:36 mark of the opening quarter. Taurean Price’s bucket at the 4:20 tick cut the Kings lead 43-42 in the 2nd phase.


The Kings closed out the frame on an 18-7 run to lead 61-49 at intermission. Keon Ellis made all four shots from the field, 2 behind the arc, and five free throws for 15 points for a perfect second quarter alone.


Antetokounmpo’s 17th point at the 3:12 mark of the 3rd quarter tied the game 80-all. Sacramento regained the lead and expanded it to 89-82 on a free throw by Devin Carter. The Kings led 89-86 after 3 quarters.


Back-to-back 3-pointers by Trent gave the Bucks a 113-108 cushion late in the 4th quarter. With 22 seconds remaining, LaVine missed two free throws. Antetokounmpo made 1 of 2 at the foul line with 20.1 ticks left to end all scoring in the game.

  • The Kings announced that the team converted Isaac Jones to a standard NBA contract. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.


    A 6-foot-9 forward, Jones has appeared in 31 games for Sacramento this season. Jones originally signed a two-way contract with Sacramento on July 3, 2024, after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Washington State.
